Sub setup in mk6 golf tdi
Posted by: stunt305 - 02-25-2013, 11:00 PM - Forum: Automotive - No Replies

So thanks to those that helped a little in the other thread. I don't post up on car forums anymore so I figure I'd share with you guys what I did over the weekend.
Started out by getting a 15" Polk momo sub and a Polk momo c400.4 amp from a friend still brand new in box for a rediculous price. I found out it would cost me the same if not more to build my own box since it's a single and picked one up at a local car stereo place.
Got a 4 gauge monster cable amp wiring kit, some 12g wire, some speaker, my trusty glassware and went to town. Diddnt take many pics but I'vegot a few. I started by running the power wire from the inside to the engine compartment I cut the power wire 5 inches from battery and installed fuse holder. Then I removed the door sill and rear trim to tuck the wire. (only broke one little fucking clip!) After that I decided to put my ground connection to be in the spare tire well. I used a wire brush to get it to bare metal, drilled a small hole just big enough for bolt to kind of thread through, and bolted on the ground with a nut and washer. Next I needed to decide what to use for my remote turn on. I ended up taking the rear right side trim off in the hatch and tapped into the cigarette lighter power. (I soldered then wrapped with electrical tape). I then proceeded to carefully remove the factory head unit. Look up the pinout diagram, and tap into the rear speakers using solder to ensure solid connection and electrical tape to avoid unwanted connections. I ran the speaker wire down the right side of the car the se way I ran power down the left. I used 12g wire to hook up my subwoofer to the terminal cup and 12g wire from the terminal cup to the amp. Plugged everything in and boom I now have insane bass. Oh yeah. First first thing was disconnect negative battery cable ofcourse.
Tank trends
Posted by: Diesel_Stunts - 02-25-2013, 05:44 AM - Forum: Stunt Discussion - Replies (87)

Now that custom tanks are the hot ticket, I feel like I should get some user input.

I personally know Ryan from Graveyard Customs, so this kinda sways towards the tanks he builds.

So for people that have had a tank made by Ryan, or any custom tank, what is your favorite "style" ??

Big lip?
Completely flat topped or a little contour?

What will be the best setup for a 6'1 rider tryin to pull through!!!
