Long story shore, back in November I had some engine trouble and that started an agonizingly long engine rebuild, including waiting over a month for UPS to deliver my replacement connecting rods

While all that was going on I figured I might as well get some powder work done and finally be rid of the nasty primer coming off all the parts I made!

For some dumb reason I didn't take many pictures during the rebuild, but I got some of the freshly powdered parts and made a video of the assembly from engine to completed bike.

First, the engine. Lots of little parts! I ended up having to replace the crank, rods, and bearings. I also threw in a new cam chain, new rings, and deglazed the cylinders while I was at it.

Anyone know what's going on here?

The guys over at Spectrum powder coating did a sweet job on the powder!

The pile on the shop floor...

I decided to rattle can the shock last minute... I'll probably get it powdered later. I did the linkage orange, too but didn't take any pictures

Making wheelies! I think I set a new record rutting the tires on... Took me about 30 minutes with nothing but two teeny spoons, a spray bottle of simple green and some brute force!

The first two or so hours are easy and show the most change... then you get to the little parts.

or you just skip to the end for the final product!

... wait wtf is he doing?

Yeah, the final product!

And here's the video!

I went to go start it for the first time today... nothing, It would crank but not fire. wtf? I checked everything I could think of, then decided to figure out why the neutral light wasn't working... I traced the wire from the side of the engine, and it turns out it goes to the same connector as the timing pickup and that wasn't connected all the way or something. Threw everything back together and she fired right up! Took a minute or two the get it up to temp, then hit it hard to seat the rings. Ahhh that felt sooo good after not being on the bike for months!!!

In the near future I'll be re-making the tank, I don't really like the shape it is now. I also want to re-make the cage and put more sliders in better positions. Redo the subcage to bring the pegs in a little. If I decide I like the dirt bars, I'll be making a top triple for them, and getting new lines. Gotta get a new front fender too! If I can find a good deal on some forks in good condition I'll get them powdered. The list goes on... Gotta love it though!

ive searched but couldnt really find anything similar, what i got goin on is once i arrive at the lot unload the bike and start it up it sounds like its running off of 3 cyl, then give it about 15 seconds and it works its way out and runs fine! but as im riding if i come around and stall then take off again its got a really bad bog at low rpms, then if i let it sit for awhile (20 min or so) then go to ride again, the bike will just crank over and wont start, i noticed today that when i go to start it the neutral light oil light and fi light come on, when it acts up and wont start the fi light doenst light up at all, im completely stumped on this one, any advice would be much appreciated!!!! thanks
