We got the subframe tabs gusseted today. Anyone have any suggestion for thickness of metal on the motor mount ear gussets? I was going to do 5/8" thick, but thats too much. Right now we are thinking of doing two 1/4" plates one on top and one under the factory gusset. Then boxing it in. But if anyone out there has any ideas, give me a holler.

Getting close... Got the one of the frame ears gusseted today. I ended up using two 1/4" thick plates (one on each side of the factory gusset) for the inner part, and boxed it in with a bar. Then we did like you guys suggested and welded a brace on the front part of the ear. I did some research also and saw where they were prone to crack in the front, so hopefully I eliminated that possibility.

All braced up and all the bare metal is primered. Once I get the factory paint this week, I can get things colored right and start re-assembling stuff! Ordering rad-cage, and sending seat out soon too.

All that welding and what not and not gonna just make a radiator cage? lol Easy thing to make. Looks good though man, wish I had access to welders and shit

I know, I know haha..
I still may try to, but my grandpa was actually doing the welding for me and I could tell he was getting kinda tired of it and ready to be done with that project. I've got him to do what I needed done and what we had initially planned on. But it would be nice to cut the cost of a rad cage in half by just making one.
