05/06 and 07/08 zx6r rear wheel differences
Posted by: inolen - 03-19-2010, 10:34 PM - Forum: Stunt Discussion - Replies (19)

Ok, so I've been attempting to fit an 08 rear wheel on my 03/04 636 swingarm. Bill from Fullthrottle made me a spacer setup that fit 05/06 wheels for his latest setup, which is when I started to find out that the 07/08 where in fact different wheels.

So far I've learned that:
07/08 wheel hub is 2mm wider on the right hand side than 05/06 wheels. I guessed this because the 05/06 brake side wheel spacer is a 18mm, and the 07/08 is a 16mm. This could mean that the swingarms are a different dimensions, but I took a chance and took 2mm off the spacer and everything fit perfect on the brake side.

03/04 and 05/06 have the same cush drive part #, 07/08 uses a different cush drive (03-06 mounts, not sure if there is a difference in the thickness, I tossed my 07/08 hub as the bearings where bad and it looked the same as the 3 other 03-06 hubs had laying around).

So this is where I'm currently at. When I put on my 08 wheel with 03/04 cush drive and spacer, I have a few mm gap on the left side that goes away when I tighten everything down a bit. I know this won't affect me much, but I want to figure out exactly why I have this gap.

What's left to figure out is if there are any differences in the wheel hub on the sprocket side between the 05/06 and 07/08 and also, what the difference is between the 03-06 and 07/08 cush drives. If anyone has any information I'd greatly appreciate it.

Edit: Also, I realize some people may have mounted 07/08 wheels with some setups just fine. Most setups with a Nissin front caliper for the hb and stock rear caliper have a lot of room for slop. The Brembo caliper I'm using for my footbrake I believe has 6mm of clearance pad to pad, with a 5.5mm rotor stuck in between them, so there isn't much room for slop.

 03 636 issues
Posted by: Judd Stunts - 03-19-2010, 04:21 AM - Forum: Help and How To - Replies (19)

I have an 03 636, and anytime i hit the brake, or really anytime the engine has load on it, from taking off from a stop to hitting the brake while on idle, the rpms drop dramatically, and it wont come back until i bump the throttle. I changed the throttle bodies thinking it would change it. It improved it a little bit over the last set, but it is getting worse. It also seems like when the engine is warmer it does it more frequently. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.

by mr Michael Hoenderop.. the kawa was still running like crap, but it circled fine.. was my first day rolling stoppies again since beginning of november so bear with me haha.
the cameraman is not a stunter so he sometimes chooses photoquality over trick quality (like the stoppies, good sharp pics but some of them timed wrong),but he is learning so fast about stuntriding! the pics keep getting better and better everytime, the quality also.
