Took my bike to the locate dealer in town a few years ago because I needed the river master premeditated and the used a fucking hammer, chisel punch and a bar, been using clips ever since with no probs on both my street and stunt bike. Paid those retards $40 to do it, I thought they were bend my new sprocket.

The clip style is fine if you get a better chain. The master link is only going to be as strong as the tensile strength of the chain. A cheap chain with a clip style is going to snap alot faster then a more expensive chain with the clip style link.

Rivet is the best way to go and you can buy the rivet tools for pretty cheap and its very easy to install. Once you get the hang of using the tool, I find it easier to install a rivet style then a clip style

i have two of these rivet tools.....neither one are worth a shit, i would rather use a clip link ANY day, never have i had a problem with them

Been using this tool for YEARS. I've probably installed 2 dozen chains using this tool. (Both for removing links and installing the master link) If you do it right, it works 100% of the time. And btw, I use a clip style master on every chain and not one has ever come off or shown signs of wear and tear.
