Fun stuff. reminds of our house in West Islip growing up. Ripped that place down to the frame and started over. Took years, lol. I gota give my parents credit though. They did 90% of it themselves after work and on weekends.

Yup we are doing all the work ourselves. Everything is pretty much done except for the finishing touches like trim and stuff. Oh yea and the kitchen is still gutted to the studs until the cabinets come in haha.

Hmm... If it were me, I'd get a piece of black or smoke plexi, cut my shape on a bandsaw, dremel smooth the burs & edges, then use a heat gun to make it pliable, and shape it into a both accommodating & aesthetic piece of shielding to add under the lower part of that. Cover up the wires & make the headlight unit look more fitting.
