Call me a heathen, but I don't take my orders from the higher power from any man....... I get 'em straight from the big cheese him/her self. To take spiritual advice on reaching peace from a fundamentally flawed creation such as man is an exercise in futility. We can learn from each other, but no one has a step by step manual for any other person. It's like stunting...... you take a lil from this guy that you learned, a lil from that guy, and mix it together to make it your own stank sauce!

My older brother once said "I find more peace with God sitting out in the ocean on my board in the morning waiting for that first break to come in, than I ever will at any church." I can fuck with that......... for real.

you my man have it down! and i agree with the being in nature and finding the peace. i've found that alot more people our age have come to these conclusions and feel the same way about formal religions. the problem with religion also is that it is translated by man and is brought down the mountain by man. So it can be twisted and changed and formed into whatever that man can think of. how many times has a bible been translated and rewriten? how many times do you think a man took certain liberties in the translations of those books? just sayin.

alas, sometimes the same can be true of formal religion. To me it's like any weapon, it can be used for survival, and the greater good, but it can also be manipulated.
