Whats the perfect amount of slack in the chain cuz I heard its suppose to be pretty loose, like ur suppose to be able to pull the bottom chain down 3-4 widths of a chain? Also should I remove the grease the chain came with from factory and put my belray chain lube or just put it on top of factory chain grease? And how often are u guys cleaning ur chains with aluminum sprockets? I used to clean mine with diesel and put belray on it about every 2 weeks but that was with a steel sprocket.

I use BelRay chain lube as well. resists breakdown really well. But it makes one hell of a mess. Ill put my bike on a rear stand in N and just spin the tire by hand and the rear of the rear sprocket where the teeth begin to mesh into the rollers making sure the lube gets pressed right up in there. and ill spay from the top down into the where the seals are. After i think she's lubed up like a prom date ill spray a solvent of some sort (parts cleaner or dw-40) onto a wrag and wipe the plates and excess lube clean. As for chain slack i normally run 1/2" slack up and 1/2" slack down with bike on the ground.

Ya it def makes a mess but all of them do. Just cuz they say fling resistant doesnt mean anything. But try putting it on the stand and putting it in first and just let it spin so chain gets hot then put they belray on it. Ya I never wipe the plates off thts a good idea

Use chain wax. Works good when used right.

The chain should just be able to touch the bottom of the swing arm with out forcing it. Chain wax has always been my fave

The important part about adjusting a chain is to make sure it still has some play when the suspension is all the way up and all the way down.
If the chain is a little too tight when the bike is just sitting there imagine what happens when you move the suspension all the way through it's travel.

Yeah to tight of a chain will wear out your countershaft bearings in no time which is no bueno. An inch of play is pretty good meause. Think suzukis is a 1.2" for max slack.
