Is the dual single piston hb setup enough for the 954? I see people using 4,6 dual caliper setups for 600cc bikes and sometimes they arent happy with it. For now i've got a junction valve to the original caliper on my 954, haven't tested it yet but after everything i've read i have a feeling it won't be anywhere near enough to bring the 954 down

^^ all depends on what your doing with it. if your not lot riding or doin coasters on the streets then it should be plenty. you can overpower it with your throttle if your squidin and learnin but if your lookin for some security to rock shit on the streets what you have now should be fine. i murdered combos on the streets hopin all over the place on my 03 636 for 2 seasons with no issues cuz your not riding it constantly or need a ton of pressure. once you get into lot stuff where you'll need a lot more break to stop on a dime for shit like death spins and stalls you'll deff want a 4 piston bracket. you can learn circles in the lot and plenty of other stuff on a junction valve it just wears your hands out quick. engine break is plenty on the streets where anything more than junction valve or single piston caliper would almost be to much but really boils down to your master and overall skills of stayin smooth. rock what ya got till ya get a real dcb with hookup to 4 piston for hb stock cal for fb.

sorry for thread jack answerin lol. pix lookin sick man, deff gettin some good shots on that bike on the reg

yup what he said^^ lol

for me the single piston has been fine so far the few days that ive been out on this bike. i dont think i even remember hitting the handbrake more than once or twice the whole time since the engine brake on this bike is so strong...i now better understand how the OG's did seat standers with no HB on this thing. i have the single cal linked to a magura 13mm master which seems to give plenty grab. i still havnt tried any lot tricks or idle wheelies on the bike yet BUT i used to have a dual single cal setup on one of my past f4i's and i did circles and all that shit with no issues.

edit: oh and by the way if someone made a 4 piston bracket i wouldve definitly went that route just for piece of mind but at this time im pretty sure the single cal is still the best that you can get without going custom

Thanks for the detailed answers. I am just starting to learn, so i should be more than fine with the junction valve setup for now. And its sad that there arent as many stunt parts for our bikes as there are for f4i's and 636s

there more used for street stuff nowadays than lot stuff so not really needed. learning lot stuff on a 954 probly isnt the best route lol, but it can be done cuz a lot of guys used to kill um.

I have built mine twice now as a lot stunter and I've never really gotten it to idle right until I took out the exhaust and intake flappers I burned up 4 stator covers then I bought my sick cage and its taken some gnarly pancakes and I haven't had an issue. So sick would be my suggestion to you I haven't owned an impacktek cage I'm sure they are good products but a sick cage will probably be cheaper and you might find a used one. And your idle cable shown may not be long enough maybe with some creative routing not so much but the f4 cable is way longer and you could zip tie it up by your controls. Maybe f3 I can't remember exactly. Looks good man glad to see someone else still rocking the tried and true Hondas!

thanks for the info ben! you are one of the very few people that i remember seeing a 954 build thread...i got the flappers out but the exhaust servo still in, i dont see myself riding much lot so i doubt ill rip anything else out. i would definitly love a SICK cage but that will be later down the road i got other shit i wanna buy first. i actually got the 900rr cable to work i have it coming out the side right under the air dam cover and it works good. gotta do my valve cover gasket cause its still leaking a bit, just stalling on that since i dont feel like pulling it apart lol! few goodies will be ordered soon though ill keep it updated for sure

Full throttle used to make a 4 piston adapter bracket for the Hondas it just bolted to the stock caliper bracket but it works fine with that honey setup you have. Kinda sets the caliper back further but a direct bolt on. Never heard anything bad about it. Rocking full fairing looks way more better
