yeah my buddy tim is havin same issue but hes streets only so doesnt want anything custom really or with a big lip, i told him he should have his spare tank done by graveyard and he'd be fine cuz he could pull threw crazy on his f4i now he cant n its drivin him nuts and he's super flexible with monkey arms lol, i was shocked that he couldn't. wierd thing is we measured his tank and my R6 tank and they were almost the same from back of tank to top triple nut, just the shape is what causes it.

I rounded the top edge of my 06 tank with just a hammer and some bodywork tools. Total pain in the ass, time consuming, and IMHO not worth it once you get some HT moto over it. Here is a WIP shot with just the back half rounded.

And with it all finished. It actually turned out real nice as far as fabrication goes, but again the rounded edge isn't really needed and there's a couple things I want to change with the shape on my next one.

For my next tank, I'm going to drop the lip down and back maybe 2 inches. I'm going to make the lip smaller and angled more towards the back of the tank. If space around the airbox permits, I also want to bring the sides in a little on the top for more leg room. So on the top profile the sides will be straighter instead of roundish like they are now. I'm 6'2" and I think that will be ideal for me with my dirt bars.

He does awesome work! You sure he didn't raise it for that new flush mount cap now?
