College employee knocked over my street bike

Don't take your bike to just any shop. Take it and get a dealer quote with all oem parts. Your insurance company will mostlikely pay for the fix and go after the mower's insurance for it. I'm talking from my experience. Good luck bro.

my bike was on the sidewalk.
as far as i understand the cop would have had to issue me a summons if i was at any illegal fault during an accident.

also, being parked illegally shouldnt give any1 the right to damage my bike

for things i cannot fix myself i use a small motorcycle/power-sports shop..
You think ill make out better going to a dealer? i figured the guys over there would help me more with some little things here and there.. (for example powder-coating the new rearset black in order to match the other one..)

One last thing, i got the police report today and found out that the guy driving the lawn mower IS a school employee and its looking like this claim will be with the schools insurance.. ill find out more later today

Yea I agree they don't have a right to damage it, and doubt he did it on purpose, but keep in mind that guy was doing his job and if your bike was in the parking lot the whole thing would have been prevented..do hope everything works out for you tho...

thanks, i have nothing against the guy doing his job. i just feel the school should make an insurance claim due to its employees mistake

Take it to a dealership with a good reputation, their service department will handle most of it with the insurance company.

I had liability on my bike and still do, a dude pulled out in front of me and I clipped him, claim was all on his insurance. Let the local dealership handle most of the BS, told the service department I WANTED the bike totaled out and there was enough damaged parts for that to happen. Insurance company totaled it out, I "bought" it back and got a check for $4500. Zip tied the plastics and fixed a few select parts with new and got it inspected by State highway patrol ($50) and was golden. I still ride her till this day

so a dealer will take my bike, price out everything damaged, argue with an adjuster, and then let me take it home to fix it myself??

?? sounds like they wouldn't be to happy about that

yep, i got $1400 for a dented stock muffler and scratched header from a dealer quote, got a $400 slip-on and was rich for a few minutes.: i had to actually bring my bike to the other peoples insurance office, they looked at the damage, called the dealer i bought the bike from and then wrote me a check.
