College employee knocked over my street bike - Twist - 09-26-2012 Long story short, While i was in class a man operating one of those large ride on law mowers (for fields) crashed into my minty 07 gsxr600 street bike. It was damaged pretty badly, smashed mirror, scratched plastics, etc etc... When i called the police they told me that it has already been reported and that i can pickup my accident report in two days. I don't have collision on the bike, just basic insurance.. In a perfect world i would be able to bring my bike to the shop of my choice and have them send the college the bill.. Any ideas on what i can expect? along the lines of the college paying or not... (this is a state university of New York school) ..also looking for general advice College employee knocked over my street bike - wastemgnt - 09-26-2012 Wow that is a shitty deal I would thing the mowing comp.would have to pay not the college idk man College employee knocked over my street bike - WHEELIE - 09-26-2012 It may be a long process (maybe not as long as you think) depends on how the school takes care of the situation... It's really not the schools fault but they did hire that company to take care of there yard. It will more than likely come down to the company that the guy who ran into your bike works for. But I would stay on it, after you get the report. Then yes, you will probably have to bring it to a dealer and have a estimate from a dealer to give a quote. Good luck with the situation...
College employee knocked over my street bike - StrictlyStunt - 09-26-2012 Get your insurance company involved. Send them a copy of the accident report, they will tell you what to do. College employee knocked over my street bike - rockstar - 09-26-2012 Well in WI you always have the choice to go where you want for repairs... In NY I have no idea... Def get the company info, get the bike to where you want it fixed, get an estimate for repairs, get the estimate to the responsible parties insurance/ Accounting dept/ Manager, get the money, and then finally GET IT FIXED!!! .... this process sometimes can exceed 5 weeks so good luck and hope it goes as quick as possible... sometimes the insurance may write their own half ass estimate so make sure your shop of choice is willing to battle to get you a proper and complete repair and stick it back to the paying party and not to you... GL bro College employee knocked over my street bike - WHEELIE - 09-26-2012 How Much is your Deductable?? College employee knocked over my street bike - Twist - 09-26-2012 i am not sure if the school hires an outside service or they do the lawns themselves. being that they have such large property i thought that they would own their equipment.. I don't have collision on the bike, just basic insurance.. thanks College employee knocked over my street bike - rockstar - 09-26-2012 lots of larger places will subcontract for lawn/ snow care so possible...?? it may not be the school itself... College employee knocked over my street bike - R1wonder - 09-26-2012 Land scapers have insurance , say a rock gets sucked into a lawn mower and breaks a window , it's insured , and other freak accidents that may happen. I think you'll be good College employee knocked over my street bike - navajowalks - 09-26-2012 Was your bike in the grass or on sidewalk? Or did the guy hit it driving the mower in the parking lot? If your bike was somewhere it wasn't supposed to be you might have a little problem.. good luck tho, sucks when your stuff gets messed up either way.. |
