03 636 Water/ Oil Pump HELP!!!
#11
I went back out this morning and pulled everything off and inspected it, and all looked good so I was gonna reinstall it and try again and see what happened, until I was snugging the bolts down and didnt catch one of the dowel pins and broke my "spare" body........

now I have no choice but to order a new one and new seals again....

When I get the new one Ill do a write up on how to remove and reinstall everything... still dont have a good method to get the old mechanical seal out though.... dont know what kind of tool you could make/use to get the seal out.. using rogers method of a ton of little holes seemed to be the best...

If you're going all new you might as well replace the shaft too.

What ever came of this? I have noticed that my sight glass is looking a little milky... can anyone post a pic of the location of the weep hole?

On the bottom of the water pump.

The mechanical seal can fail without showing anything out of the weep hole. I put a new water pump body and impeller shaft and all new seals and gaskets. No issues.. wish it wouldn't have taken 2 tries for me to figure out how to do it.
