"Burping" oil?

I replaced the water pump gasket on my 05 and on the first start up the low oil pressure light is on. what is burping oil and how do i do it? other wise i think i need an oil pump

Sometimes with aftermarket oil filters an air pocket gets caught in it. I know it happens with frams a lot on the 03 04s. Start the bike and loosed the oil filter a tiny bit until some oil comes out and then tighten it.

will it cause there to be low oil light?

Yea I have seen it where it causes the oil pressure light to stay on.
