yeah I run a handbrake on the right side, under the front brake, take a close look at this pic, I like it that way cause I can use just my right hand for the throttle and brake.
\r\nI actually like it better than using my left hand for the clutch and brake.
\r\nanyway I do it this way with way on the quad, cause my idle is stock, for engine brake tricks.
\r\nIts a standard clutch lever, and I ran a cable to the mechanical parking brake lever on the caliper. (before doing that I disassembled the lever from the caliper and put highspeed bearing grease in to make it smooth)
\r\nIts not near as strong as a typical handbrake setup, but it will keep you from flipping if you float past engine brake point, which is all I needed.

I have thought about doing a hb that way before on a quad tho just never got around to it\r\n

\r\n \r\n That\'s sick! How far you rollin those? And when you do em, since you\'re idle is stock, whats the technique? Do you get smooth control with the throttle? Then float it past bp with throttle then let off and engine brake ride it? Am I catching that right? I want to do it. Just thinkin how.\r\n

Exactly dude! you nailed it, you roll that on engine brake. It\'s a bitch, and the furthest I\'ve ever rolled one was around 20 feet (engine brake slows it to a stop pretty quick), I only attempt that trick in first gear.
\nI get the quad up on the highchair, hook my feet under the fenders, get some speed up in first gear, then quickly try to find the engine brake sweet spot before I slow down too much, if I dont hit the sweet spot I speed up and try again. it\'s really f\'king easy to flip your ass over, and I\'ve had some REALLy close call\'s gunning for that handbrake before I ate it. I did flip one over in haspin acres, it sucked ass.
\nThe sweet spot is EXACTLY where engine brake ends, and flip over begins when you are completely OFF the gas, if you let go right at that point, you are eithor going to nail the trick, or start to flip and have to reach for that handbrake fast as shit, lol\r\n

\r\n \r\n Set it up for stunts and play in the lot. Then if you get a chance have the dirt shit ready and swap it out for a fun weekend in the hills or something.\r\n

\r\n \r\n I\'ve got an \'01 400 EX I stunt, which is close enough. No handbrake though. Lower the tires enough and I really don\'t need it. Special K\'s, highchairs, they\'re all a blast on the quads, even without all the goodies like handbrakes. Are they running a class for them next month at Stuntwars? LONG LIVE THE QUADS!\r\n

\r\n \r\n 1st gear on a 450 with stock gearing is like 3rd gear on a 400ex or ltz400, I\'ve ridden them before, not a very good stunt quad in my opinion, slow stuff is much harder on that machine than a 400. I\'m looking at getting the new 09 LTZ400, its fuel injected, and geared perfect. good stunt quad.\r\n \r\n
\r\n
I am buying a fuel injected Suzuki 450R Quad tomorrow.
\nGoing against my own advice, but I\'m gonna regear it to match my 440cc 400EX.
\nThe fuel injection is gonna be f\'king bad ass.
\nI\'ll post some pics tomorrow.\r\n
