the only thing about the airforce (or really an branch other than army) is you cant pick you job, you go into a field and then assigned a position, kinda scary in that sense

Airforce all the way and you do get to pick your job, especially if it is a critically manned job eg. Special forces. They tell you you can't pick but they assume you know nothing about the process. U can always just choose just mechanical or general and so on but that's fucking dumb IMO. But I u do wait for a job you could be waiting for a year or two for that contract to come out. I waited 4 months for combat control. I've been on marine, navy and army bases and I must say that the quality of women suck. You go into any airforce hospital and you will have your mind blown by some of the bitchs that work there.

+1. talked to my brother recently about the army. he's been in for 12 yrs and just signed for another 10 or 12, i forget. he says its basically just like a normal job unless your deployed. he's also been to iraq, kuwait, afganistan, italy, france, germany, etc. + all over the US for training. he's mountain division so they get deployed more than some others i think.
the one thing he doesn't like is the lax in ranks. he thinks it should be more disciplined and gets pissed when some of the new recruits question his orders.

New army is breeding the new recruits this way...basic training is easier and with all the new rules on engagements and such to many people are worried about going to jail for following a orders or even basic requests...like calling in fire overseas it gets turned down by people miles and miles away because they don't see it and has caused many lives...its a huge issue that should be addressed but wont due to to many people complaining and worrying about what reporters will say happened instead of the lives of our own sorry went to the extreme on that example but this issue really irritates me...sad day in dead when rank gets questioned instead of the old snap to it used to be.
