Carbs arnt that bad to ride with man, way more forgiving than FI and the european guys freakin kill it on carb'd f2s n 3s. You can wind the float level down to stop he flooding but obviously this will lean it out at higher rpm so its a bit of a catch 22.
I never did anything to my f2 and it never had any major issues, it shouldnt foul at bp and just try keep the revs a lil higher when right back scraping and you should be ok from my experiance.
