I agree completely.
The tanks are a ton of work, ESPECIALLY since he does each one to the customer's spec, so it's basically scratch building each with no templates or anything. I wouldn't do one for less than $300.
I had a really deep dent on my 06 half tank before trying the flat top. The dent actually put me lower that the flat top, and it feels pretty funny now, so I'm going to do another one that has an angle or dip in it. Like I said in my other post, if you're a tall dude that isn't super flexible, I would look at a tank that has a dip in it, and maybe a little narrower on the sides. I'm 6'2" and only moderately flexible so that's what I'm doing next.
One other thing is I've been working up to foot in bar staggered no handers. I see guys doing them and they have their body right up against the tank. With my current tank and it's high lip, I can't get that close so a lower lip will also help with that.
But that's what I get for being a squid and jumping head first into projects I don't know crap about!
