it could be a pin hole sucking in air on one of the fuel lines. It could be that the gas tank isnt sealing good enough and sucking in air. It could be in fine tuning the HS and LS needles. Glow plugs can go out in a moments notice. Dirty air filter can cause it. So basically turn all the needles all the way in and find your engines factory settings on the carb and adjust from there. Make sure there are no air leaks. Make sure your exhaust pipe isnt full of fuel also and is air tight. take the air filter off and make sure the carb butterfly has a little less than 1\8 inch gap too for idle
