nitro rc help needed - maverickxp - 06-01-2011

ok, so i finally got that rc car i purchased off here. it has an o.s. max.12 engine in it. ive been dicking with it for 3 days now and cannot get the damn thing to run. i have new batteries, good glow plug, charged the glow plug ignitor. it is electrc start not pull start. the best it will do is run for like 10 secs then shut off. i have messed with all the carb settings and nothing.
help please.
questions i have. there are 3 screws on the carb. one looks like idle screw one looks like fuel screw and the last one i think adjusts the cervo, is this correct??

Nitro is old school... I never play with mine much anymore. But my Stampede runs an O.S. max.15 I'll check the manual(kept the box from 10 years ago.) and post up later. Im at work. Nitro is such a pain in the ass. With the new Lipos and technology, you should just get a Traxxas Slash and beat the fuck out of it. But I just drove my nitro the other day to make sure it still ran. So I already have everything out. Hopefully we can get ya runnin by tomorrow.

it could be a pin hole sucking in air on one of the fuel lines. It could be that the gas tank isnt sealing good enough and sucking in air. It could be in fine tuning the HS and LS needles. Glow plugs can go out in a moments notice. Dirty air filter can cause it. So basically turn all the needles all the way in and find your engines factory settings on the carb and adjust from there. Make sure there are no air leaks. Make sure your exhaust pipe isnt full of fuel also and is air tight. take the air filter off and make sure the carb butterfly has a little less than 1\8 inch gap too for idle

tuning a nitro engine is NEVER ENDING

I fucking hate this thing and the jackass on here that sold it to me. I just spent another HR with it tuned it to factory specs just floods the exhaust with fuel. No air in the feed line but air in the return line hooked to the exhaust. Now everything is dead again and I have to charge it all

And I just checked the glow plug its still good

Mail it to me I'll tune it lol. If it's flooding the exhaust with fuel adjust the low speed needle down it should be burning that fuel not dumping it

Nitro is cool, but soooo much trouble. I have too many hobbies to be dicking around with tuning my rc car every time i wanna drive it. Look into the Traxxas Slash 4x4's. You'll be glad you did

what os motor is in it?

nitro rc help needed - YSRRider - 06-02-2011

nitro and electric both suck. Electric sucks because you have to wait to charge the batteries and they are expensive, especially LiPos. Im sure they are cheaper now. I have a 19V Lipo for my helicopter. When it was new it was a $400 pack. Now they are down to around $240.

Nitro sucks when you are a retard and dont know how to tune it.
