I'd say ipad if you dont want any software glitches. Android is too buggy for me. I had the xoom, the asus transformer, nook color. They all had their own problems, honeycomb is a nice idea but it still crashes too much. I could be reading a blog and bam, the browser would just shut down for no reason...and then the stupid "force close" messages would always pop up on any thing I ran.
This will sound like a total cliche, but the app market for apple is soooo much better than android when it comes to tablets. If anything you can find a nice ipad 1 for about 300-400, to save some cash.
