kno there is alot of tech guys on here so i figured i'd ask the question. lookin to possibly get a tablet for keeping up with my school stuff etc. which one is best in your opinion and why?

also if its any help i dont have any other smart phone or anything else lol a desktop at the house and thats it so syncing with other gadgets would be a moot point thanks!

iPad is sweet, but it's still an Apple product so you'll be tethered to iTunes for forever.

Android tablets are sick, but I don't think it's a good time to buy one.

better check that coverage map first

I'd say ipad if you dont want any software glitches. Android is too buggy for me. I had the xoom, the asus transformer, nook color. They all had their own problems, honeycomb is a nice idea but it still crashes too much. I could be reading a blog and bam, the browser would just shut down for no reason...and then the stupid "force close" messages would always pop up on any thing I ran.

This will sound like a total cliche, but the app market for apple is soooo much better than android when it comes to tablets. If anything you can find a nice ipad 1 for about 300-400, to save some cash.

hmmm thanks for the heads up now how about the ease of using ipad with windows products like one of the main uses i would have is writing papers and doin spreadsheets. rthey have to be able to go seamlessly between machines..

im thinking about getting one too, and from what iv seen is that writing papers and doing all that school work isn't really a problem...in my classes of like 200-400 i always see a few people with ipads and they have the dock with keyboard and take notes, write papers and all..havent seen anyone do spreadsheets but im sure u can, i think that when u do documents u have a choice to save it a certain way? my buddy sends files from his mac to my pc and they work just fine, guess it depends on exactly what u want to do with it, id probably just use it to pass time in class and maybe a few notes here and there...

I think they make an app for the iPad where you can use Microsoft word documents on it, like edit and open them. You probably have to pay for it though.

Also remember that you can always jailbreak the iPad-A lot of paid for apps become free, and a bunch of stuff gets unlocked for the user to mess with.

I've only used an iPad but can say, that its really smooth. and I liked using it. Hardly any crashes or anything. One problem is no Flash, but it was once in a while I encountered a website that needed Flash.
