0304 636 mystery bolt thread?
#1
Ok so I have been slowly losing oil level on my 636 this past week so I started looking for the leaky gasket ect. It seems I might be losing oil through a bolt hole that has no bolt in it...It's the one that is located directly behind the oil drain bolt...anyone know if I am supposed to have a bolt in there stupid question I know

Is it visibly leaking Greg? I thought you said you couldn't see anything? That's why I said probably piston rings if you're just losing it.....

i know the hole you are talking about and that hole leads to nothing. I know because i freaked out one day when i saw that hole and i thought i was also missing a bolt, but after looking at an oil pan that wasn't on the motor you can see that it leads to nothing... im very curious as to what it is for. I had some drips of oil coming off of that hole but it turned out i had a very small pinhole crack inside one of the round divits also on the bottom of the oil pan and it was coming from that and simply running to the lowest point of the pan (the mystery hole)
