You would think most of the time I had mine rubbing in between the micro tubes and the actual fan bracket. But yeah i could see it cutting if it was on a tube. My buddy Truitt is religious about cleaning his TBs and I rode his bike (identical set up) and it was much much more responsive than mine... I haven't cleaned...ever.

The fins between the tubes are just there to transfer heat, they wont leak but if your fan blade starts rubbing on the tubes that have coolant in them they will leak.

any way to go about sorting out idle problems? ordering a set of plugs tomorrow (gsxr600k6 i can choose iridium or regular ones, does it matter for the idle?) and putting in an ignition advancer, but something tells me it should pull just fine on idle. motor supposedly has 7000 miles, but has been raced.

roger, does the choice of plugs matter? iridiums or normal? i can get both for my bike, irids costing twice as much..
