Id reccomend the aprilia mx 125 2T or the yamaha dtx 125 if your new, good two strokes, and will do the job haha, good way to learn

ive been lookin at all the different motards lately and from what ive read the aprilias are a fun bike under 50mph but suck ass above that because they will shake you apart. i know motards are made for going slower than that but thats the one bike with an engine big enough that it could easily do 80mph on a highway comfortable as far as rpm wise just the vibration will suck. the wr250x would be nice but i hear they are a slug just like the 400sm, i wish yami would come out with the wr450x id be in line for one of those

I am selling a 2008 drz400sm 242 miles for 4500 that's still under factory warranty. Full yoshi, jet kit, and fatbar. On Ebay call me 402-208-1116 if interested.

IMO the only down fall to the DRZ is that it is a little heavier. May not have as much power as the 450 but with a little mods is far from a slug. I rock one as a street stunt bike and a track bike. I can smoke 600 and depending on how tight the track is some 1000. FCR carb and full exhaust makes a huge difference. Fixing to bump up to a 440 BB kit and hot cams. Recently rode a DRZ set up like this and it was scary fast. But the best thing about the DRZ even with these mods is that it is way more reliable. Depending on how much/hard you ride you better be ready to do a hell of a lot of maintanence on a traditional 450 mx bike.
Just my 2cents

I like the comfort of the DRZ's. Maybe for daily commuting. But all the ones i have tried to ride were so sluggish. Even with heavy mods. Maybe it's because I'm so used to my KTM
![]() My ktm has not demanded much maintanence... as far as the "traditional mx bike" goes... And i have a laundry list of engine mods on mine. Besides checking the occasional bolts/seals and doing oil changes.

SM610 for the win on a street motard. I LOVE them, I have my 426 motard and it's amazing but has a bit of an attitude problem if you're commuting all the time. The 5-speed trans is its saving grace over most of the 450's
