I think the shooting was completely justified, you could easily kill someone by taking a pipe bender like that upside someones head. However, what pisses me off is if that was my fiancee' and I, and that guy cocked back at her with that pipe bender then I pulled out my gun fired 5 times till he fell, then fired another 5 rounds into him after he was down I would get charged with murder. I'd just about gaurentee it, thats bull shit, cops and civillians are a total double standard when it comes to self defense!
