Wr250 vs. Crf250 - BirDMaN420 - 10-04-2012 I'd say more power than the ninja, it's a lot lighter i'd assume. X will have wider wheels than R. Cant just change tire. Best to get X straight up i think. Supermoto wheels are expeeennsssiive
Wr250 vs. Crf250 - PoltArt - 10-05-2012 Okay so what I got form this is the 250f is completely different from the 250r and 250x which are pretty much the same bike except for wheels and whatnot. So then would parts from a 250R and 250X be interchangeable? Way I figure if I could find a good deal on a 250R I can just get wheels afterwards. Other then that I guess I will be on the lookout for a 250x. ![]() George, from the research I have done it seems that a 450 would be way too much work to own as far as maintenance goes. I plan to use this bike to get to work and home and then take it out to lots and stunt there for most part. Some wheelies on the streets but I don't care to try to pop wheelies at 100mph. Wr250 vs. Crf250 - Nateural - 10-05-2012 get a 450!!! Wr250 vs. Crf250 - Stubbz63 - 10-05-2012 stunt parts would all fit the R just the same as the X, go for an X it'll save you money in the longrun unless you want dirt wheels to swap out to trail ride hardcore, some may trade there x stuff for r stuff but id just go with an X from the start, it'll be cleaner cuz you know its been mainly street riden. 250 is perfect for the lots and will do fine on the streets, with the right setup itll rip up in 4th and teach you to stay at bp cuz if you fall out of it you wont have enough ass to bring it back up but mine would lift in 3rd easy and 4th with a good clutch tug. if you love the supermoto side of things you will want a 450 before long but if your learning a 250 will teach you a lot. Wr250 vs. Crf250 - StuntMing - 10-05-2012 If you just want a commuter and a bike you can ride to the lot and stunt, the 250x is the way to go. That was the sole reason I traded my 450 for one. The x will be much cheaper in the long run than converting an r. Even though they are the exact same bike. the front brakes, rotor, and wheels (front and rear) are different. You'd need to find the caliper (i think the big brake bracket is actually a part of the caliper itself, not positive), wheels of a 250x (I haven't even looked if they make an aftermartet hub/wheel for the 250r since the x is running 17's). Unless you are getting the bike for about $600 - $1000 less, you'd be paying more for the r. Devil's advocate would be that puting the r wheels on is a ton of fun! Not for stunting, but riding the streets to the trails WTFO and jumping the little 250 of a MX jump is pretty cool.
Wr250 vs. Crf250 - Stubbz63 - 10-05-2012 say nothing about gas mileage is way better on the 250x vs any 450 almost doubled probly. 450s will be more like a normal sportbike that runs good rpms usually, the 250 running high rpm still gets well over 50mpg, i used to put 5 bucks in mine and ride back n forth to work all week long pretty much. you can buy the dirt setup after if you want it for around 7-800 Wr250 vs. Crf250 - Cory_4fiddy - 10-11-2012 I would go with a 450,Your def gonna want more power for sure. Its more maintenance but all that stuff is super easy to take care of. Wr250 vs. Crf250 - BrainTaylor - 11-06-2012 I am having Wr250. I would really like to recommend it to others alsoas it has better grip seat, the protaper bars and suspension is a little better and lighter. Wr250 vs. Crf250 - Stubbz63 - 11-06-2012 thats all stuff that everyone changes anyways, other than suspension but all WR's are good suspension Wr250 vs. Crf250 - D hawk - 11-07-2012 ![]() I had a wr250 x for a week.. I had planned on stunting it but I was personally very unhappy with it. I highly recommend going straight to the 450! Such a better choice! This is my opinion only tho.
