I replaced my cyclopse bulb with a 100w instead of the 55 w that came in it. It don't look much brighter than the 55 w did...

The Cyclopes is DOT approved so it has glass lens. The other ones are all none DOT and have plastic lens. almost any bulb over 35w or so on the others will start to melt the lens and cases.

There's a reason the real deal is more expensive. I have the Trail Tech DOT model, and it works well enough for night riding for me. Just another option if anyone is looking for one.
The only problem is it only mounts to the forks with one strap on each side so you need to improv a brace to aim it properly up and down.

ok, so i bought a crappy ebay headlight and after a month those shit ass 25w bulbs and connectors that came with it all fell apart. so i had an idea, let me go get regular car bulbs and silicone them in. its a win/win, brighter lights and not crap wiring. so i did that, got them in there awesome. i originally hooked it up to the headlight harness (blue for power, green for ground) but when i did it with the 55w bulbs the wire burnt up. think i was drawing too much power from those those little 20 gauge wires. so now i think im going to wire it up to a toggle. now the toggle has 2 prongs. how to i wire this thing? battery-one side toggle-headlight? any fuses inline? i have a 15amp toggle heres a pic of how i did the bulbs if anybody else having the problem  |

That's the Ebay Chinese knock off one.... they will melt
with even the 20w bulbs in them. I ran the ecerbris and thru
the 55W Halogens in it and ran it for couple years...

And if any of you are worried about light output quit fucking around with bullshit low efficiency halogen bulbs, fucking christ people. Get a cheap 35W(standard) HID kit for like $30 on ebay. 35W has great light output and won't melt your wires or harness. Bulbs aren't any bigger, just going to have to tuck away a ballast in a spot that gets decent airflow.
Something like this, don't even need bi-xenon. Just if the seller gives you options for the bulbs get 5000K, best visible light output. It's as close to natural light. If they have 4300K go with that, 5000K go with that, but don't go over 6000K. That color temp is where it starts getting too much of a blue tint then close to 10000K more purple and really sucks for visibility if the roads are wet. And 10x worse on black asphalt that is wet.

And JDM, get a different headlight. If you have no lens you are just going to explode headlight bulbs.

Acerbis are the best quality for sure. Cyclops has the brighter bulb or LED Vision looks cool as hell too
