Front Brake Keeps Building Pressure/locking up
Posted by: KYD - 04-29-2013, 04:34 AM - Forum: Help and How To - Replies (19)

Alright, what the shit is going on with my damn front master. its the stock 06/07 GSXR600 Nissin Front Master. Rode the bike 50miles after I bought it last year. Not a problem. Replaced all stock lines with Stainless Steel Russel Lines with brand new crush washers. One line down and One crossover line. I filled up my ressy with MOTUL RBF600 cracked my master bleeder and waited for gravity feed....nothing after waiting 10minutes. Hmmm, pumped the handle a shit load and bled it normaly...NOTHING. Hmmm, got the vaccum bleeder Pumped it up to about 20psi...fluid sucked through the master immediately. Sweet, did the same thing on each caliper pulled fluid through no issues. Get the bike out and go to take it around the block. Made it 2 miles and front brake I could feel getting stiffer n stiffer until errr errrrr er. LOCKED THE HELL UP. wtf? had to have STUBBZ bring me a wrench on the side of the street so I could get the bike home. had this happen to a couple other bikes and its always the front brake lever cuz theres a little bushing within the lever that if the plunger isn't within the hole itll build pressure and lock up. Didn't think it was it, but screw it why not look at it. Nope, lever was fine. Soooo I re-bled the entire front, made sure everything was tight. And the son of a bitch did it again. Hmmmmmmmmm, I fill my ressy's to the very top and put the cap on and catch the excess in a wrag so theres no air. Thinking that might be the issue where the fluid cant expand in the ressy I took some out and tried it again....fucking fail! WHAT THE HELL IS MAKING MY FRONT MASTER LOCK UP? someones gotta know.

Another note...on my handbrake. This is my first Brembo 16x18 handbrake master. I have it on my HoHey DCB with another SUZUKI signle piston rear caliper on stock rotor. I cant get it to lock up the rear wheel while riding up to a driveway or stop sign. its got brake power but WONT lock up the rear wheel no matter how hard I squeeze the bitch. is this normal function and its just the feeling ill have to get used to?

 636 won't start when hot.
Posted by: StuntBikeJake - 04-28-2013, 10:12 PM - Forum: Help and How To - Replies (4)

Basically my bike will fire up like a champ first start of the day or in the garage but after I ride and get it up to temp.. (190-200) and shut it off it won't restart. Cranks super slow.. And today started something new.. Bike was getting hot so I pulled out on the street clicking gears.. Get to the end to turn around and it shuts itself off and won't restart...

Anyone got any ideas.. Battery still reads that it has a good charge.. Was replaced about 2 years ago.

No lights on at the time.. Fan wired on at all times, rectifier hard wired into harness ( already experienced melted plug issue)

 Creaking Noise? Frame?
Posted by: DeNoZZo - 04-28-2013, 04:39 AM - Forum: Stunt Discussion - Replies (6)

Just took my 09 zx6r out to the lot for the first time this year. And after a little riding I noticed something was creaking a little when I was either on the gas hard, clutching it up, or trying a stoppie (really hard braking). I was thinking it might be my cage flexing under the load or something but looking for opinions. Frame was fully braced over the winter and this is the bikes first time being ridden in the lot, and it hasn't been dropped yet. I've ridden the bike hard before on the street, and done trackdays with it and never heard the sound before tonight. Haven't checked or looked over anything because I didn't feel like unloading the bike after getting back, but I'm going to look things over tomorrow. Any opinions?

RedBeard's BadAss Raffle Budget 636 Build

I held off to start this thread until I was at least half way done so it didn't end up a year plus 100 page thread

I ended up winning the first badass raffle that Billy did on here so I had a bare frame and $600 to work with. At first I was going to put the frame on my current stock frame bike at the time but after going thru all my spare parts I decided to start building a bike from scratch..

First purchase was the heart of the beast, picked up an engine for $500 with a 6 month warranty.

Then did some test fitting with spare parts I had to make sure everything was good to go before powder coating anything.

Started ordering some parts, got some NISSIN front calipers from @CELFLEX and that concluded the raffle money. Didn't take pictures of everything but here is the brake lines and tank fab pictures.
