Got the twisted moto Martha Stewart urge again... this time using one of my favorite all-purpose art materials... Spraypaint.

I gotta thing for graffiti, street stencils & rattlecan art, etc. Anyone else a Banksy fan?

The designs are completely original and 100% my own, so please don't rip, ok? I'm asking nicely. It took a long ass time to design & make the stencils and all by hand, so if you want your own, don't steal, make an offer. It's a pain in the ass to do from scratch the first time anyways. But I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out!

how does the paint hold up when you wash the shirt?

I haven't washed it yet, I only drop my stuff at the cleaners every other week.
But in my spraycan affinity I have read & researched much on other peoples experiements, experiences, and proven methods beyond what I have done myself.

The consensus is, the paint lasts for years with little to no loss of image, and generally reacts to washing very little. I imagine that after lots and lots of vigorous washing & wear, the worst you would end up with is that cool, hard to duplicate "vintage" look.

Also, I used matte paint, and it not only had the right effect I wanted on the fabric, but also absorbed well into it with almost NO stiffness.. I haven't tried gloss yes, but I imagined it might be more prone to crackling... Who knows, I'll just have to experiment sometime.

Here's the 1st couple test projects I did for fun & experimentation:

I took a candid picture of my bf the other day that I really liked & have been making various style digital portraits with. I decided to make a stencil of it to make a spraycan art on canvas portrait of him too, and while that is not done yet here is the first test of the stencil onto some cardstock. The test spray is on the left, the stencil on the right.


He makes music, so I grabbed some of his old undershirts and returned them newly improved. These were my first tests of spraypaint on T's, so I started simple and worked up. (These 2 are NOT my designs, I found stock stencils online for these.)

He loves them. Which is cool cuz it totally made up for him waking up in the morning to find my over-carffeinated crafty ass still up & in the middle of a mess of paper, scissors, cardboard, tape, etc etc all over the place in the living room, lol.
