Brembo vs Magura HB which should i go with?
#1
So, I ordered an FTI kit that was supposed to come with a Magura 13mm master, but I was sent a Brembo master on accident. I spoke with Bill from FTI over the phone and he said I could send it back and he'd send the Magura, or I could keep the Brembo and he'd refund $85.

I really want to just install the HB and use the 85 bucks for more parts, but I've heard a lot of good things about Maguras

This is my first HB, so I'm not sure which master I want to go with.. Any advice?? Brembo or Magura??

(I don't know any specs of the Brembo, so I took some pics)

Dude get a radial master, what caliper are you using for the HB?

unfortunately FTI junction master for now until I upgrade to a dual caliper setup. I'm totally new here and I'm not doing circles or anything yet I'm just starting to slow my wheelies down.
and yeah, i know radial is better. So should I swap for the magura?

Honestly man I started same like you with a junction and it sucked, hard to bleed and just doesn't work that great in general. Really held me back in the beginning... I would grab yourself a good used dual caliper setup ASAP if you want to get into slow/idle wheelies. Also get yourself a cage if you don't already, no need to go crazy and fully stunt your bike until you decide you like it, the cage will help keep your bike from being destroyed.

I have a r1 front brake flipped as my handbrake but my brake rotor is like 300mm lol

Thanks for the advice. Would the classifieds on this site be the best place to find a used setup?

btw, I love your bike and i wish you wouldn't sell it.

Yeah, I would check the classifieds.

I learned idle in the staggered position. It's kind of hard at first, but the cost of using the foot brake is nothing. I'm currently working on FIS, and I jest got my hand brake set up to where I can use it (haven't tried it yet...)

Don't do anything until yo get a cage! The cost of a busted up bike is way more than a decent cage.

Good luck, have fun, stay safe!

Get a cage and then the magura, really no point in getting a half assed hand brake. I tried the cheap way and 4 months and a 100euros later still no hand brake. :/

He does have it for sale i think.
And for HB, get a decent one or ride footbrake first.

Don't short yourself on a bad HB. You can go cheap in a lot of places but this is the one place I would definitely not try to cut corners.
