any great dane owners??

\r\n \r\n I\'m not an owner, but my friend has one. When he was 8 months old, he stood taller than me on his hind legs, and I\'m 6\' tall. Because he was a puppy, he\'d get excited when people came over and once he jumped up and caught me with a paw in the face. Blacked my eye and left a HUGE bruise and nasty scrape all the way down my face. My advice after watching her raise him.....Have lots of money for dog food, and make sure he\'s exercised to the MAX so that he doesn\'t have pent up energy. Good luck!\r\n

\r\n \r\n My brother had one and same thing with jumping.....and it struggled with who the alpha was......my brother handled that but then it only recognized him as the alpha and would nip at his wife......great dog but they have a lot of health issues and didn\'t live long.....was kinda sad......\r\n

\r\n \r\n dads aunt had 2 , great dogs playfull male was kind of slow and easy going the female is the bitch (funny how that works lol) lots of energy, keep the doc visits every 6 to 8 months the get sick easy\r\n

\r\n \r\n well i should refraise myself...i MIGHT get her tonight if we click...i am going to spend time with her and the owner after our session tonight to see if we mesh well...she is 3yrs old and 185lbs....just want to make sure she is okay with my 2yr old and 5yr old children before i make any serious commitments to owning her.\r\n

u have to take her to your house and let her play with ur kids and see if there\'s a bond there if not its better not to force it especially if there\'s kids\r\n
