What is this box?

Ok, so i'm tryin to do my kleen air mod on my 03 636, yes another kleen air question....sorry guys but i need the help. I bought this bike from a guy that i can't get ahold of now to ask him what it is. It's a black box on the left side of my bike and it has 2 hoses and one other hole that's capped off. The capped off one says vent about it, and the other 2 hoses say SEP. and Purge.....and then one of the hoses runs up to where my T valve would be for the kleen air. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS THING???? and can i just take this bitch off. I don't know if this helps or not but i'm pretty sure its a CA bike. If i have to keep it, how can i work around this to do the kleen air. Thanx for all the input and advice in advance. OMR, i know you got somethin on this bro, help me out

P.S.---i've searched kleen air and pair mod and looked thru all the pages already and still couldn't find shit on this and how to do it correctly

Simple explanation.....

Remove all shit that doesn't match an explained how to thread for a clean air mod on your bike. Connect clean air mod and ride, make sure no codes throw and clutch that bitch up.

CA emmisions are much more stringent than the rest of the country, so vehicles in CA require additional equipment from the factory. This includes motorcycles.

What you are looking at is a purge system designed to catch any unburned fuel vapors before they are released into the air. Long story short, the whole thing can be removed and just follow the regular instructions for the clean air modification. Simply remove the pair valveq and replace with a "T" and run that line to the crankcase breather on top of the rear case.

Hope that helps some.
