I know you know your shit so figured Id ask. I just got an Evo. I havent done shit to it yet cause I\'m reading up on rooting and debloating and roms and all that shit. What\'s the best thing to do to it in your opinion and are there different root programs? Complete noob w this shit \r\n

\r\nFor the EVO 4G just used Unrevoked to root and then run CyanogenMod. Can\'t beat it.\r\n

Yeah totally see where your coming from. I was going to go with the original evo 4g cause its a good phone, but since i got to wait another two years for my next upgrade might as well get the best thing available.

\r\nI can for sure notice the quickness of the dual-core. I\'m running pandora, facebook, internet browser, twitter, texting, and downloads in the background. Didn\'t hiccup once. Very fast and smooth. Recommend this phone to anyone on Sprint network needing a new phone.

\r\nMy brother has the Evo 4G, so ill see if we can run some benchmarks and compare. I\'ve looked online and Evo 3D was getting 2.5x faster speeds out of the processor on intense apps, than the 4G.

\r\n3D is cool, but its not like the main reason why I would get it. Its just a nice little feature they made. One really good thing where it stands out is movie watching. It comes pre-loaded with The Green Hornet, and watched about 10 mins of it, and thought it was very nice and I could for sure watch the entire movie. Didn\'t notice any eye strain also.

\r\nGreat phone overall, the battery does get hot. But i looked it up online and first charge cycles are common to be hot. Like it would make a very good handwarmer haha. Did have it act up though once. I couldn\'t scroll up or down in the app list. The bottom four buttons worked and I could goto the Home Screen, but the screen wasn\'t responding. Did a quick little reset and has been perfectly fine since.
