Ok I have verizon. My wife has the droid X it was OK until they sent out the Gingerbread update, now it blows goat nuts.

I just got the HTC Thunderbolt right before verizon changed its data plan. It's 4g and fast as hell...but the OS is sloppy and laggy.. I had to root and debloat mine for it to be usable/stable. But it still has weird bugs. Since you have no chance of getting into the unlimited data plan(unless you alraedy have one, which still you wouldn't be in a hurry) hold out for the new iPhone. I plan on selling the Tbolt as soon as it drops.

dont make any changes to your data plan no matter what the verizon reps tell you, hold onto that unlimited plan! I have the iphone 4 on verizon and its really nice, but the new iphone is supposedly only a month or two away. Might as well wait for the version. Its a guessing game right now as to what it will have. But alot of people are saying it will be dual core and maybe a slightly bigger screen. If you NEED a new phone now, get the iphone like you wanted, if you can wait a month or two, do it and get the new iphone when it comes out.

Hmm, ya ive heard about the whole if you have it you can keep it thing. Im going to do what I can to do that. Ya idk, I really just cant stand the phone, but if I knew when the new one was coming out I could decide if I wanted to wait or not...Maybe ill just buy a used one or something for now.

you can find a used droid 1 on ebay for less than $100, or a droid incredible 1 for about $160. Both are good phones to hold you over for now, waaaaay better than that shitty storm. I went from a storm 1 to a droid 1 and was amazed of the difference.
