true..i live in NY so i know it wont be that easy....i dont think i should have a problem though..i have a clean record..gonna try it on my next day off...are the applications and fees expensive? aside from buying the actual gun\r\n

\nNY City, is a bitch, pretty expensive - I think $450 for all the application fees... and again, in NY City, you\'ll only be able to get a "premise" license - which means you can only have them in your house -OH, if you live at home you\'ll have to have parents permission and/or spouse\'s permission - and occasional trips to the range, BUT YOU CANNOT CARRY CONCEALED - must be in a locked box in the trunk and other rules.

\r\nOnce you find the gun you like, you have to go to 1PP (1 Policd Plaza, NYPD HQ for you non-New York guys) in manhattan to get a "purchase document" - which you then take back to the gun shop... The gun shop can now give you the gun, which you must take to 1PP for inspection, they make sure the gun is NYC legal and the serial numbers are right, and then add it to your license.

21 for a handgun is a Federal law, *BUT* that is ONLY to purchase a handgun from a FFL (Federal Firearms Licensee - a gun dealer)

\r\nif you are over 18, you may legally buy a handgun from a private party (friend, relative, guy you met at the range, etc.) As long as your state doesn\'t prohibit it (which I think AZ doesn\'t)

whats the requirements to own a pistol?...do you have to be older than a certain age,have a reason for it etc etc?...

im 22 and would like to hit the gun range for some fun but i i dont wanna go and get denied so i rather know ahead of time what to expect.....never attempted to get one....atleast not legally
