636 front sprocket engine seal

i got some cords wrapped around my front sprocket on my 03-04 and damaged that stupid seal on the counter shaft of the motor, so when i turn my bike on, oil pours out....has anybody replaced this seal without splitting the engine in half???

i know there is screw type seal remover for the seal at the shifter i would assume there is one for that seal too but im guessing ..

looks some thing like this , it slides over the shaft and screws into the seal then you thread the bolt in and it pull's the seal out ..

replaced more then once take a hook type pick and hook through seal (its fcked anyway)and pull..been popping some tires?

use two drywall screws it will push against bearing race and pull seal out it's simple i do it with a screw driver

Drill a small pilothole on top and bottom of seal don't go to deepe just stop once u get thru the outter part of the seal, its sheet metal under the rubber. Screw two sheet rock screws in till u feel them barley touch bearing behind, jerk out with vice grips.

i replaced mine , came out real easy, just used two screwdrivers to pry it out

yes it can be done i have replace 2 of them....

good thing i parted out a 636 motor recently and had another seal laying around, the old one was so destroyed have of it wasn't even there, so it came right out, no more leak:-)
