The only reason I did it is because they are cutting 4k jobs and I didnt have to double my time but its not a bad option if you have some school to finish up.

If your down for dealing with the "part time" army and them not knowing what the hell they're doing then go for it,I'm currently in the reserves,it's gonna pay for your school though,BAH and other benefits are they're too,not a bad gig,but again, they're idiots

heres what i did. 4 years active duty and got gi bill + kicker, had 4 years left in the inactive reserves so i signed with the guard for 3 and got: 2 years stabilization since id been deployed 3 times, 10k bonus, -1 year from inactive reserves, all my school is paid in full. so i pocket the gi bill every month and get paid to go to school basically. on the bad side, if you thought there were dipshits on active duty, the guard is filled with them. id say go for it if you can make it work for you.

how are you banking your monthly gi bill and still getting your school paid for? i did 4 years active with deployment. and now im in the guards the same way you took.

tuition assistance from the guard pays 100% tuition straight to the school and gi bill goes straight to my account. plus i didnt opt in for the post 911 gi bill, im using ch 30 which works out better in my situation and gives me more money in the bank each month. if you havent already i wouldnt opt in for the new one either, you can use up all of your ch 30 and be eligible for 12 months of the new one, which not too many people know...hope that helps

Screw the guard, bunch of dumb asses leading other dumb asses.
Get out, go to school and by the time you get out of school jobs will be abundant.
