04 Ford 6.0 diesel - #6 cylinder = NO compression - HELP!!!
#1
My mechanic did a compression test on my truck. There is no compression at all from the #6 cylinder. He also did the computer test and found that the injector was completely done. And also when we pulled the glow plug, it was destroyed. When I start the truck, it pisses fuel out of the muffler.

What are the possibilities of what can be wrong?

My mechanic thinks its the piston. He believes that it may have cracked or damaged the wall and theres a 50/50 chance that it would be easier to replace the motor. (Keep in mind this is NOT a shop. He is not making any extra money no matter what I decide to do).

Now a buddy told me that if it was the piston, then the motor would lock up. He believes that it is the valve. And if the valve is no good, then its not closing and thats why so much fuel is being dumped out to the exhaust.

Any thoughts or anyone ever have this issue???

powerjokes are known to break injector nozzles.... shitty part is it'll wreck the cylinder and piston and sometimes go through the head, or get stuck in the exhaust valve keeping it stuck open.... if it's pissin fuel, sounds like the case.

Is there fuel in the oil? where are you located at?

Located in Southern California. Not sure if there's fuel in the oil. What does it mean if there is?

be sure that cylinder is at top dead center, do the compression test again. if it's confirmed zero do a leak down. pushing 100psi into the cylinder you will hear where it's going ie: oil pan, intake, exhaust.

again, make sure it's truly tdc if not it'll leak from the intake valve or exhaust valve.

good luck

those are notorious for having the injectors stick, or the head gaskets leaking / blown head gaskets..... best thing to do is replace the cylinder head

... oh and when if you replace the head, thy make a better sleave/jacket for where the injector goes in, thats the main place where the leaks start
