\r\n \r\n My grandfather was kept alive for two years thanks to weekly transfusions (he was exposed to nuclear radiation during WWII and it made his body stop making red blood cells), so I\'m all for them. I was bummed that I couldn\'t donate for a year after I got my first tattoo, especially considering that I\'m O-, but they\'ve changed the law so now I can donate again.\r\n

Jehovah\'s Witness\'s are against transfusions by using a verse of the bible to prohibit it. Catholics believe they (JW) took the text out of context, seeing how it more refers to the drinking of animal blood as a symbol of idolatry. "The bible couldn\'t specifically create a guide for something along the lines of modern medicine, as the technology was not around to apply it."\r\n

\r\n \r\n only reason im asking is because of my good friend marc just had one. Alot of people say that they cant wait to leave this world so they can be with our one and only God. But then will take a transfusion or something of that nature so that they may stay alive.
\nLet me say that I am not downing anyone for making the decision . Please dont take it that way.
\n
\nBut there are other avenues of this procedure. And NO, they are not as fast acting, but still vital in the recovery process.\r\n

\r\n \r\n I refused one after surgery for a broken leg. They tried to get me to sign some form saying if I got aids or some shit it was all on me. Kind of turned me off to the idea.\r\n
