The bike has a custom frame you don\'t need a vin as long as its off the highway, they are looking for altered vins and stolen motors. The motor can be tracked to the original frame like what happened yesterday. My bike was in front sick innovations tent, they ran the engine # and moved on never said a word about the smd frame\r\n

Don\'t run a stolen frame or motor and you got nothing to worry about.

I \'thought\' the only numbers on motors were a \'batch\' of numbers, say 20-60 motors had the same number? Or am I mistaken\r\n

ALL motors have their own number. Some people do get confused cuz there are 2, what looks to be motor numbers. (Not sure if ALL motors have 2 sets but every older bike I\'ve seen does).
\r\n
\r\nI know for sure for example, the 600rr engine number is in front of the rear shock. I\'ve taken bikes to the DMV and the inspectors there had no idea where the engine number was. I had to try to show him, he still couldn\'t see it, and I ended up reading the number to him. LOL. But on the 600rr it does have another set of numbers but that may be what you were talking about with the batch number.\r\n

So I heard from Matt in Florida that the cops showed up and started running numbers on bikes randomly. And they have already taken 2 bikes so far. I don't want to say names at the moment out of respect for the riders. But daaaaaamn. The police obviously had nothing better to do but fuck with the stunters. FTP!
