05 636 wont start, grinding noise?

To start I pm'ed omr about this when I should have done this in the first place not to bother him

So I had the bike up for sale and about to be sold and this happends

Ok so now as of last week my bike wont start all the time. Usually 1 out of 30 tries it will start though.
I know the starter should be good because it is spinning and has power to turn the motor.
But every time I go to start it every now and then I will get this grinding ,jumping, chain jumping (basically I have no idea where the noise is comming from inside the motor) noise that just doesnt even spin the motor. Now its to the point where the bike will barely start and the grinding jumping noise is all the time, I will take video of it on saturday. It sounds like its in the tranny, so I tried using the zx6r tranny diagram to see where the starter clutch and all that links up to but I cannot seem to find a clear cut answer on what the fuck could seem to be happening.
I ordered a starter anyway off ebay (10$shipped even though I am about 99% sure its not that) and I am about to take the bottom half of the motor apart this weekend to see what is wrong. To me it just seems like something came loose in the motor and shit is just jumping around.I just have no idea what/where I would be looking. So basically if you guys have ANY insight to throw me I would appreciate it .

Inside your stator cover there is those gears that spin the starter and stator fly wheel, if those are messed up or not lined up I think it would make a noise like that... check that if you haven't. Its pretty simple just remove stator cover...

I did check that, OMR pmed me back anyway and told me to check my starter clutch, but I dont really know how it could be gone cause everything on it looked fine when I took the stator off. Either way I will be taking that off this weekend to check it out

remove youre flywheel and inspect the sprag clutch on the back of it
