Paint stripper on bondo?

Bondo is porous (sp?)...If you use stripper on bondo it will soften the bondo and some of the stripper will soak into it.even if you sand it down you'll never get all the stripper outta the bondo so when you end up puttin a new coat of paint and clear over it,it will eventually seap through to the new coat of paint from the bottom and fuck it up.I wouldn't repaint over bondo that has had stripper on it...The only way to be sure to have a good lasting finish is to sand all the bondo off or just dont use stripper.

+1 I'll testify to that from personal experience. 80% of a good paint job is in your prep work. The other 20% is based on quality of paint materials and your technique when you spray.

i would personally use the stripper(aircraft paint removal) on the majority of the tank just cut in the spots aound the bondo areas then just sand the paint off the bondoed area. then after all stripped wet sand with some 600 then primer sand paint

yup its all in the prep work you can spend all the money in the wold on paint and if the body work suck your paint job will look like shit!!

ok why would you use (aircaft removal) for???

how long is it going to take 15 20mins to sand the whole tank by hand
i just ask a buddy of mine if there ever use paint removal! and he said no it make more work for you after you stripp it, you still have to sand it so why not just sand it! to begain with!!!! btw he works at auto body shop too!!!!!
