Paint stripper on bondo?

I have bondo on my tank dent that I spent a long time working on and its really good. Im re-doing the paint, will chemical stripper eat the bondo?



but the paint is really shitty! all messed up now from gas so i need to get rid of all the bad paint but keep the bondo....

Good question....... I'd like to know that myself. What type of stripper do you plan to use? Varsol? Mineral spirits? Methylketone? If worse comes to worst, just take and sand it down...... I know it's a bitch but you're guaranteed not to wack up the bondo.

put a lil bondo on something in your garage and test it

Ok why do want to use stripper for??? All you need to sand it down! With some 220 grit sandpaper..then wetsand it with some 600! who's going to paint it?

the white paint and clear from the picture i did with rattle cans and it sucks, its all faded, stained and chipped now. Was going to get it painted properly by an auto paint guy this year so want to prep it right

Ok well you need just to Sand it down like I Said, get it primerd but I think if you spilled gas on it it will fuck it up you know! Your best bet is to leave it and wait tell you have money to take it to a shop and have it painted and clear coat!!!!!

yeah i am getting it done at a shop, but figured i would do the prep to make it cheaper?

Ok this is the thing my dad use to own a auto body shop so I know a thing are two! You may think it will save you money but if it's not done how the shop wants it done there goin to charged you more! People would come in all the time thinking the same thing!! They think there help out but made more work for us so we charged more :lol
