Protective shoe/ankle advice?
#1
I'm kinda paranoid about foot and ankle protection. I know a lot of people just wear skate shoes, and some of the lucky girls are able to fit into the super nice shift fuel shoes (VERY jealous) I have tiny kid feet, I have to buy the kids shoes, like size 4! Or women's 5.5 maybe a 6 depending on what brand. Any suggestions for something that is not a heavy treaded boot with lots of laces for ankle protection and support?

My boyz use the 661ankle braces under skate shoes and love 'em. Not sure on size availability, though.

I rock hightops, they are a good protection/feel ratio I think.

But I really want to give these ankle protectors from Dainese a try:

I wear the Frank Thomas "Stuntboot" which u can find at Cyclegear. They have an ankle strap as well as small ankle plates in the sides. I also used to wear Mitre soccer ankle/shin gaurds as well. u can get those at walmart for around 20$. After I saw Ernies foot from his crash I will never wear normal footwear to ride in again
