Whats a typical price for powder coating a frame?

i got my frame powdercoated gloss white for free. looks good and when i got it back it had all that hi temp tape in all the holes. some were plugged but whoever did it did a damn nice job IMO. (especially for free lol)

I had to put 3 coats of white on my F4i rims and forks before I could put down the neon top coat and it still looks like someones face that has acne scaring.


http://www.jpwdesign.com/ has the best oven for a beginner. I have one and i still use it 8 hours a day, I love it. This is the same oven sold by Eastwood under the HOTCOAT name.

compare the JPW 4x4x6 to Teds 4x4x6........... its like comparing a new hummer to a 79 bronco with rusty quarters caked with mud.

nah, they arent gonna go out of business, they do well. Many coaters dont know about them so I keep it a secret, especially the local coaters, I dont need scabs dipping in my Kool-Ade.

They are big into paints aswell.

Why would I advertise for them? They arent Pepsi or Coca Cola, any Joe off the street cant order from them.... well they can but they cant use the material without the equipment. Me advertising for them isnt going to gain them business either.

They sell many good products but every powder MFG may have a product thats better than somone elses. I buy my matte black from one company because I feel its the best, and I get my gloss black from another company because its better than everyone elses that I have tried to date. NIC's Ink Black with a clear coat is amazing, the finished pieces feel like a piece of glass. But..... as far as gloss blacks go.... Theirs is $13/pound, $8 if I buy 50 pounds at a time. Most people that want gloss black such as someone that has production parts, they dont care what the quality of the powder is, black is black to them. And I can get a gloss for $3/lb that is very rich in pigments and is super shiny and does not have any edge pull, NIC's does... sharp edges show very thin because it has alot of clear and fillers in it. I guess you could say there is a specific powder for every application. Black is probably the hardest color to pick out, every company makes 20 or more and they are all slightly different and many of them suck, especially on something that you want to look good. NIC's "gloss black" is supposed to be better than the Ink Black but I have not tried it yet because they dont offer free samples so that means I'd have to spend about $35 just to buy enough to spray a sample plus 2 hours of my time that I wont be getting paid for so its low on my priorities at this time.
