your right.. professional coaters, that do this for a living.....pay the big bucks for better equipment and material.
mineral spirits work also....
dont know what the fuck menards is.. sounds like a gay guy store.
your right about outgassing most metals, another reason you would outgas anything, is to hot flock (spray hot) for multiple coats, or if you dont have a thousand dollar gun...
and yes, harbor freight does sell some inferior shit, but for the home coater.. its plenty good enough at a good value.
Oh, and it sounds like your a professional powder coater... thanks for the tips and being nice about it dick! :P
NO ASSHOLE DO NOT USE ACETONE, MEK, ALCOHOL OR MINERAL SPIRITS!!!!!! Do you ever get fish eyes in your shit and you wonder where they are coming from? What are you blasting with? If you are nice to me and call me daddy I will tell you where to get the secret chemical to treat your parts. The chemical is years ahead of its time and is better than most chemical on the market, its expensive and even more expensive for large coaters so the only companies that see the savings are the ones that are pumping out millions of dollars in parts a year or those that require higher specs on parts. The stuff will run you about $50/gal, 5 gallons will last you a year if you dont waste it.

yeah I hear more and more about coaters that bend you over and fuck you dry because they know they are the only coater within 200 miles. cock suckers....

No, I dont get fish eyes, because I am really particular and extremely clean.
I use aluminum oxide or green diamond sand, grit depends on what I am stripping and what is currently on it, pc, paint.. ect..
Sounds like a cool chemical, way to expensive to implement into my process.
And I am being nice MOTHER!
Besides.. you cant tell me my shit dont look gangster!

its not expensive, its reusable, its not spray to waste. in the long run it will save you on the gallons of acetone you are buying. Looks good. What color is that? What gun are u using?

actually, im no powder coater so i dont know shit about this but i do know this doesn't look gangster. its very bland and un-consistent. if you look in the highlighted areas it looks like the powder was not laid evenly or your prep *chemicals* sucked. im no hater bro but ive seen the work ysr has done and its quite flawless. im a newbie painter but im a perfectionist so i notice things like this.

Dunno if you are just tryin to start shit or what, but you are looking at a pic in a basement low lighting with a flash from a camera.. it is not "inconsistant or laid unevenly", I have at least 50 pictures of my bike.
you are seeing 200% gloss reflection in the angles, corners and crevices..
sounds like you are sticking up for YSR which is good, cause that means I can listen to what he has to say!
I am not a professional coater, but I am not a squid either

Cool, like I said. shitty camera, low lighting.. I even took all the pics of my bike on a crappy day.
Here is another pic without the flash on the camera and as much light as I could get, it makes the parts look dark. haha.

I just paid $100 and traded a set of CBR1KRR wheels for a swinger and bottom triple for my 1KRR streetfighter build, so it sounds like he got a killer deal. Bulletchicken, what are you using for an oven? I want to get some basic stuff (yeah HF, I know, rag on me now and get it over with) and like the size of parts your getting to do.
