Sick Cage and the Worst Luck Ever!
#1
So.. I keep my bike solid, always make sure the cage is snug before riding. The last sesh the cage started rattling like a SOB. I attempted to tighten it down and could not get the bottom socket cap tight. The nut always grabs so I only need the alan socket to get it snug. I was going to pull the cage off and redo the nut with a Nylon Lock Nut like I did the rear all thread. Looking down the tube with a flash light it looks like the bolt is free b/c of the lip. I basicly have to roll the bike over the cage and plastics to get it free so I can see what the deal is. It wont budge so I decide to use a wheel and cut it off. Here is what comes rolling out of the tube.

All I can think of is it came loose inside the tube and I laid it over on the right side and the vibrations worked it back to the bottom. Talk about some bad luck.

The Nut was on the shaft correctly, It must have come free inside the tube. Dropping the bike and some how worked its way back down the shaft upside down. I had to cut it off, thats how it came rolling it the ends. I have a spare set I knew I would need someday

I almost had a mental break down trying to get this off, when you look down the tube it looked like there bolt was free b/c of the flare nut being upside down. I though it was nuts or it was bent then when it came out it explained everything. Did you RL today or what??

he didnt realize the nut was still on the bolt because it was backwards so he thought he was just looking at the end of the bolt sticking through the cage so he cut it off and realized the nut was still on the bolt
