I assure you, I will not! I don't have the slightest urge or desire to, I know I never will, not everyone does! Even if I did, fastest & BEST case scenario say tomorrow I meet the guy of my dreams, 5 years later (my minimum requirement/test) we get married (not keen on that idea either), a few years later (gotta have some time just as a couple first before taking on kids!) get preggers... dude I would be menoopausal age! So not only do I not want to have kids, I don't want kids living with birth defects or Down's! Besides, I have way too much ahead of me still to do with my own life, before I am satisfied enough to hang it up & start focusing on another's.
Unfortunately, although one can have a kid at 15 by an older, slimeball crackhead and thats all legal and stuff, I am not allowed to choose NOT to have kids and get my tubes tied until I am 35 or pop two out the cooch first! WTF? This country would surely only benefit if more people opted not to have kids... so whats the deal with that?? I don't get it. I mean, seriously, like if I regretted my decision, what does the gv't care? Not their problem, thats mine & my responsibility. What, do they LIKE paying for assistance programs and stuff or something? Even if I did change my mind, there's in vitro fertilization/embryo implanting, or ADOPTION, something I think more people should do anyways instead of popping out a litter at a time and making a TV show out of it!
Honestly, if I ran the world, I would solve half the problems in a ripple effect manner simply by making birth control mandatory. If you want to have a kid you have to see a doctor, a judge, etc. I mean, you already have no problem with having to apply for a marriage certificate, you have to apply for credit to buy a house or car, etc, proving beforehand that you are stable, employed, responsible and capable of handling the potential debt... things you should have to prove before taking on the creating of a new human being! Basically, I choose to not have kids because I take it VERY seriously.
At the very least, how is it not unreasonable at all to hold people to the same standards adoptive parents must meet??? Argue that.
I know, I know, how would you stop people from multiplying, that's their god given right, this isn't communist China, blah blah blah, heard it all before and yes alot of my suggestions conflict strongly with my opinions of the the place of government in our lives... I believe less is more! But hey, ya know what? The people have already increasingly over time asked or at least allowed for government to do everything for them, surrendering their say, their rights, their choices for the sake of being babysat & protected from themselves, to have their savings be taken from their checks since they are not trusted to be responsible with securing their own future & retirement, and so on. Well people, there are way too many people who are farrr less responsible about having kids, and THAT is a HUGE compound problem for our country & government/resources! I am absolutely sickened by driving through ghettos where a dozen siblings are playing barefoot in dirty clothes in a bare dirt lot for a yard in front of a shack of a house, while a shiny new Escalade on chrome 24's sits blinging in the carport. Sick of people having kids just for the extra measly paycheck the government will put in their mailbox. Sick of standing in line at the grocery store with my handbasket of macaroni, frozen pizzas & ramen, watching the deductions taken from my paycheck instead let the woman in front of me buy, no joke, a cartful of prime cuts of steak, etc all with food stamps, to enjoy while she sits on her ass & watches soaps at home all day while I bust my ass for my dollar!
I could go on forever, and get further and further off topic. NONE of this is directed or applies to any of you anyways, just me spittin' a piece of my mind.
My views are extreme and not directed at anyone, just ranting here now that we are on a topic I have pondered before... Sorry to hijack your very well meaning and positive thread.. I now feel like the drunken uncle at the wedding, lol.
