First gun GLOCK 17 mod questions
#1
I bought my first gun and fired a real gun for the first time yesterday. I live in Canada so it is purely for target sports, as we are not able to carry and its actually very strict on where you can transport your restricted guns at. I waited 4 months for my lic to go through with back round checks. My mags are also capped at 10 max

So anyways I went with a G17 for my first gun, and I wanted to know what mods people suggest first. The only thing they really had for them at the store was night sights, everything else the guys said I should just order online.

I cant wait to shoot more and work on the guns, I have to wait a week for my permit to come in to be able to bring it home. After that Id like to start modding it just like the bikes

Lot of people doing the Cerakote stuff to custom guns now, probly a bunch of Glock specific forums that you'll find way more information about than on here. Most info here i would take with a grain of salt. Glocks are either a love it or hate it kind of gun, lovers cherrish them and will say there hands down the best, haters will never own one lol. Not a fan of them myself but lot of people love them, ive never had or shot one so idk im just turned off by the style but to each thier own. Look into the FAB stuff they make some shit to make a glock into a small rifle

I personally like the all black, but I was going to look into possibly doing cerkote myself because I am part owner of a powder coating company. The gun store I bought it from even asked for a card and said they would give me some parts to use as samples because they dont have anyone locally that does it. Its hard thou I would have to register myself as a gun smith to do any frames, as our laws are strict you can not bring a pistol or restricted rifle/shot gun anywhere but your home or range you are a member of.

I did some reading and found Glockworkx ended up ordering a trigger kit and a whole bunch of other shit to play with...

Id do a rig like that if we could do the auto mod here, but shits weak, no auto, no silencers, 10 rd mag cap for pistols, 5 for rifles, need a transport permit to bring the gun anywhere...I had to have a backround check done and wait 4 months for my lic. Bought the gun and a range membership, have to wait another month for my range test to get full membership and even start shooting my own gun there. Fuck its so much hassle just for target shooting, but I popped off 20 rnds when I bought the gun and it felt great. Lots of fun for now.

Yeah man its a finishing process just like powder so if it goes wrong then you have to deal with stripping to redo it. I have been through this a few times already when the powder doesn't come out the way its supposed to. I have a $1000 barrel of B17 stripper just do we can dip our screw ups to redo them. Paint or powder it all comes down to prep and cleanliness, the cleaner and better you prep the surface the better the final finish will come out...Not rocket science but some people dont have the patience or eye for detail to do things like that...
